2010 Land Rover Vehicles – Specs and Thoughts

In the U.S. Land Rover offers four main vehicles to choose from. There’s the LR2, LR4, Range Rover Sport, and the Range Rover. Now for me, each model is attractive and offers different features and uses. The Range Rover Sport and Range Rover seem to be more of luxury vehicles that you drive around town than take on a trip into the back country. I know people use these for off-roading and such though, personally I would choose the LR2 or LR4 for that purpose and save the Range Rover models for daily driving, going to the beach with a surfboard, etc.  The reason for this is that the Range Rover is so expensive and beautiful, I would be mad at myself if/when it got scratches, paint chips and such.  The LR2 or LR4 I would happily get dirty and muddy and not really mind any scratches.

Land Rover Vehicle Specifications: (all 4wd)

Land Rover LR2: Starting Price: $36,350.00, with a 3.2L 230hp I6 engine, producing 234 lb-ft torque.  Fuel economy of 15mpg city and 22mpg highway. Three different models – the HSE, HSE Plus ($38,800.00), and HSE LUX ($41,425.00).  More expensive models give you features such as adaptive xenon headlamps and dvd navigation system.  The LR2 weighs 4255lbs and has 59 cu. ft. cargo space.

Land Rover also has a car they haven’t released yet called the Evoque which is a 2 door car with 230hp, 234 lb-ft torque, and 4wd.

Another vehicle Land Rover has that looks nice is the Defender, this is not sold in the U.S., and you would have to import one if you wanted it, which I’m guessing would either be difficult to do or maybe even not allowed.  But I think the Defender is a nice looking rugged vehicle, if I had one I would outfit it with some light bars, and other accessories too.

Overall these vehicles are going to be more expensive than suv’s from Ford or Chevy but they have nicer features like Terrain Response which can reconfigure your engine, transmission, and traction settings depending on the road condition; so if you can spend the extra money the LR2 or LR4 would be nice vehicles to choose.
